I thought you would like to see my babes! This is a great picture of the whole family..my daughter, son-in-law and of course those beautiful babes!

My Crochet Needle Rollin'!

  • I have been crocheting like crazy these past 2 weeks..here are some items I have made, of course everything was made in DOUBLE since we all know I have tweenie grandaughters!! These great hats are from Chelle at Luv 2 Crochet! http://www.luv2crochet.com.freepatterns.html
  • Thanks Chelle!

And here is a Daisy Halter w/Doo-Rag! This is a great design by Wendy Ravinski! I also made it in Pink for her sister! You can see her designs at :http://earthwhisper.wordpress.com

This another hobby I have "DECORATING CAKES" I'm not the greatest at it but I give it my best! This cake was made for a friend that was turning 21! She wanted a strawberry cake, so I made her a strawberry cake with cheesecake and fresh sliced strawberries in the center! I didn't know if it was going to turn out because I got "alittle impatent" and put the top layer on before I chilled the cheesecake center, well ya'll know what happened next reight/ Of course it wnet pouring out of the sides and well I fixed it and it turned out terrific! WHEW!

MaKayla's Chemo Doo-Rag Pattern (REVISED)

Ok, I gave it a whirl and tried my best at writing a pattern for ya'll! If ya find a mistake or have any problems with it please e-mail me!! Have fun & be creative!

MaKayla's Chemo Doo-rag Pattern
I used Red Heart Soft Baby Yarn (very small amount, 2 different colors)I also crocheted it very loosely. Ok well I'm no writer so please bare with me..

The first part of this pattern is the SKULL CAP from Luv 2 Crochet -Thanks Chelle Your a great designer! http://www.luv2crochet.com/skullcappattern.html Follow this pattern to the 10th Row.

Ok now your going to make the tail of the doo-rag.

ROW1: Chain 3, 2dc in next ch1 space, ch1, 3dc in next ch1 space, ch1, 3dc in next ch1 space, ch3, turn.

ROW 2: 3dc in next ch1 space, ch 1 , 3dc in next ch1 space, 1dc in beg ch3, ch3, turn. (2groups of 3dc)

ROW3: Repeat ROW 1

Row 4: Repeat ROW2

Continue this pattern for 10 total ROWS, then fasten off and weave ends in.

EDGING: With RS facing you attach contrasting yarn to the left side of cap SKIPPING 1 DC group.

ROW 1: Ch 2, HDC in each dc st and in every ch1 space around capleaving 1 dc group at the end. ch2 turn.

ROW2: HDC in every st across, ch 3, turn.

ROW 3: 4dc in same st, sk 1 hdc st, sc in the next,sk 1 st, 5dc in the next st, sk 1 st, sc in the next st, continue across.

SIDE TIES: SL st in last row of HDC, Ch1 make 4 dc sts along the EDGING, the last DC st will be in the last dc of the CAP..now ch3, dc in each st across (3dc and a chain3 =4 dc)make 15 rows of 4dc,(or haowever you would like your ties to be) fasten off yarn weave in ends.

Do the same on the other side of your cap and your finished!!Tie the side tails together in a bow leaving the long tail in the back underneath and it's done! Great Job!

If anyone finds mistakes or has any problems please don't hesitate to e-mail me: grammyandpapaws@yahoo.com

I want to thank Chelle Grissam for her great SKULL CAP pattern. Please go take a looksy at her beautiful designs! She has all kinds of AWESOME patterns!

MaKayla's Chemo Doo-Rag

I'm so sorry I haven't been here lately..alot has been going on in my life..one of my twin grandaughters was diagnosed with a Medullablastoma( a Central Nervous System Brain Tumor) and well it became cancerous.. we had it removed and then they told us that she had cancer cells in her spinal fluid.. she is doing very well and has to get Chemo therapy for the next year! So well I have been traveling back and forth to Georgia from VA about oncce a month or so..I have been crocheting like crazy for her ya know little hats and head kerchiefs.. I designed this little DOO-RAG for her I thought it was cute..so here it is for ya! It was very simple and I think it took me maybe 30-45 minutes to whip out!If you would like the pattern I would be glad to write on up and post it here..let me know gals.. I could even make one for adults if anyone would like it..

Here is the Halter top I made to go with it! And of course I made 2 one is with Purple flower and edging and the other is Pink flower and edging!

FRONT VERSION BACK VERSION

This halter top was an original of a great designer and I changed it around quite a bit.. I did it in a HDC stitch and I changed the starting SQUARE to a reg. flower instead of a ROSE GRANNY SQUARE.. then last she did a 7 dc shell where is used a 5dc shell, I only did ties at the neck and middle back and she did little wide straps at the neck and middle back..It still turned out very pretty! I will be posting alot more things in the coming days for you all to see..Everyone Take Care!
